The LSU football team slipped down two spots to No. 11 in the USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll but remained at No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
LSU was ranked No. 9 in both polls last week, as well as the BCS standings. The latest version of the BCS standings will be released later this evening.
The top three in both the USA Today and AP polls went unchanged, as Florida, Texas and Alabama remained Nos. 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Both Florida and Alabama have clinched a berth in the Southeastern Conference championship game Dec. 5.
The top seven is the same in both polls with TCU at No. 4, Cincinnati at No. 5, Boise State at No. 6 and Georgia Tech at No. 7. Pittsburgh is No. 8 in the AP poll and No. 9 in the USA Today poll, while Ohio State is No. 8 in the USA Today poll and No. 10 in the AP poll.
Southern California sits at No. 10 in the USA Today poll and No. 11 in the AP poll. Iowa, who lost its first game of the season Saturday to Northwestern, fell from No. 4 in all polls to No. 15 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the USA Today poll.
Florida, Alabama and LSU are the only SEC teams ranked in the AP poll. Auburn snuck in at No. 25 in the USA Today poll, giving the SEC four teams in the coaches’ rankings.
