The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission urges Thanksgiving holiday travelers to stay sober if driving during the long weekend.During last year’s Thanksgiving holiday, 831 people were injured in Louisiana motor accidents. Those crashes resulted in 17 deaths.From 2005 to 2008, an average of 15 people were killed each year in car crashes during Thanksgiving.Of the 17 fatalities last year, seven involved alcohol, according to the Safety Commission.
