The National Society of Black Engineers named Brian Carrington II, civil engineering sophomore, a Torchbearer in its Academic Pyramid of Excellence program, according to a University news release.
NSBE Torchbearers must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA. Torchbearers will be honored at the organization’s fall regional conference and in a reception at the national convention, where Carrington will be granted VIP access to a career fair.
“It is inspiring to see that hard work and dedication to academics does pay off,” Carrington said in the news release.
