The LSU women’s basketball team has moved up to No. 7 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll.
The Lady Tigers were ranked No. 9 before this week. LSU beat Centenary, 92-19, in its season opener Sunday.
Southeastern Conference foe Tennessee is one spot ahead of LSU at No. 7. The only other SEC team in the AP poll are No. 16 Georgia, No. 22 Vanderbilt and No. 25 Mississippi State.
LSU senior guard Allison Hightower was also named a preseason second-team All-American by ESPN.com on Tuesday.
Hightower was also named the preseason SEC Player of the Year by the media and SEC coaches.
LSU hosts Middle Tennessee State on Wednesday in the PMAC at 7 p.m.
