Several members of the University community will serve as celebrity waiters at the third annual Baton Rouge Oasis Celebrity Waiter Luau on Thursday at the Sheraton Baton Rouge Convention Center Hotel.
The event is a fundraiser for the Youth Oasis non-profit group that provides resources and support services to at-risk youth in the Baton Rouge area.
Van Chancellor, LSU women’s basketball head coach, Fran Flory, LSU women’s volleyball head coach, Gary King, biological sciences professor and Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden will serve as some of the celebrity waiters.
The money tipped to the celebrity waiters will go to Youth Oasis. Tickets for the event are $60 per person or $100 per couple.
