BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — LSU students are being warned against scalping their tickets to Saturday’s football game against top-ranked Florida.
University officials say selling the tickets for above face value violates both state law and LSU’s code of conduct. The crime carries up to 90 days in jail and a fine of $500.
LSU requires student violators to do community service, attend an ethics workshop and write an essay. University officials say about 80 students were caught during the 2008 season — and three students have been disciplined this semester.
Each year LSU sells home football tickets to about 14,000 students at $12 a ticket.
