With the core of last season’s NCAA Tournament team returning, the LSU women’s basketball team was picked as the Southeastern Conference’s preseason champion.
The panel, made up of media members across the country, gave the Lady Tigers 12 first place votes, six more than Tennessee’s six.
Senior guard Allison Hightower also won the SEC’s highest preseason honor and was named the conference’s preseason player of the year.
