A University student was hit by a car while biking on the crosswalk leading from the Student Union across Highland Road.
The student didn’t check to see if it was safe to cross, according to detective Jason Bettencourtt of the LSU Police Department.
Bettencourtt said the student dented the hood of the car and damaged the windshield. He said the student was transported to a local hospital for moderate injuries.
Bettencourtt said bikers are supposed to get off their bikes and walk them across crosswalks.
The student’s name was not made available.
