This semester LSU students will get to vote on something other than their Student Government candidates.
Students will get the chance to vote for a possible fee redistribution.
This fall ballot, students can vote for or against the vice president receiving a stipend for their time in office.
Currently SG president Stewart Watkins earns $4,700 a year.
The current referendum will allow vice president Martina Scheuermann, who currently makes nothing, to earn $3,400 a year.
“It would be extremely beneficial not just for me for the student body and for people who come after,” said Scheuermann. “You’ll get the full commitment from that person who’s serving in this capacity and they won’t be taken away from other job commitments they may have.”
In order for the vice president to receive the stipend he/she is prohibited from working any other jobs in addition to executive.
