DENHAM SPRINGS (AP) — Officials will coordinate the demolition of the U.S. Highway 190 Bridge over the Amite River on Wednesday to make way for a new span.State police say officers from multiple agencies will be present to ensure public safety along roads and waterways near the detonation site. U.S. 190 traffic will be rerouted in the area from 9 a.m. until noon.The demolition is part of a construction project by the Department of Transportation and Development to replace the two U.S. 190 bridges.
