NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — The president and CEO of the company that has exclusive rights to salvage the Titanic says the company is interested in conducting its first salvage since 2004 at the world’s most famous shipwreck.Christopher Davino of RMS Titanic Inc. spoke Monday after a court hearing in Virginia on his company’s request for a salvage award.The 2010 expedition would be the first by the salvor since 2004, though two other expeditions have been to the site since that date, including one by “Titanic” director James Cameron.Davino said a 2010 salvage expedition is in the early planning stages and he was hesitant to discuss them before informing the court.- – – -Contact The Daily Reveille’s news staff at [email protected]
