TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The University of South Florida’s Tampa campus has been locked down after someone called to report a man with a gun outside the school’s library.
An alert posted on the school’s Web site Monday afternoon says people on campus should stay inside and lock doors while officers search the area.
Authorities say the call about an armed man came from off-campus and was transferred to university police from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
The campus transit system has been shut down until further notice.
