Students will get to vote on the name of the new bus system beginning within the next couple of weeks, according to Gary Graham, director of University Parking, Traffic and Transportation.There will be between three or five names that students will get to decide between before the start of the new system — run by First Transit — August 1.”Public relations is coming up with some ideas of names, and we will put that out to the students to vote on,” Graham said. “We will be sending out some type of broadcast e-mail soon because we have to get things up and running.”Graham added First Transit has hired all drivers and staff and will be ready for the August 1 start. There are only “two or three more technical positions” available that First Transit is in the process of hiring for right now, Graham said.In addition, the bus fleet will be up to around 22 buses, which is more than about 20 the system had at the end of the spring semester.
