A man raped a woman at an apartment complex near the Nicholson and West Lee drives area early Sunday morning, police said.
The 22-year-old woman answered a knock at her apartment door at about 12:30 a.m., said Baton Rouge Police Department Spokesman Sgt. Don Kelly. The man told the woman he knew her roommate, asking for her by name.
When the woman said her roommate wasn’t home, he asked if he could use the bathroom, Kelly said. The woman reluctantly let him inside the apartment.
The man then used a stun-gun and handcuffs to subdue the woman, raped her and left, Kelly said.
The woman didn’t immediately call the police, but called a friend to stay at her apartment with her, Kelly said.
The victim is not a University student, Kelly said.
At about 3:30 p.m. that same day, someone again knocked on the door, but this time the friend answered, Kelly said.
It was the same man, and when the victim saw him she screamed and slammed the door, Kelly said.
The man left again and couldn’t be found, Kelly said.
Kelly said the man is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s. He is about 5-foot-10-inches tall and “chubby,” with short brown hair, tan skin and a noticeable mole on his left cheek, Kelly said.
The man was wearing cargo shorts and a white hoodie with orange or brown stripes, Kelly said.
