A man who allegedly raped a 22-year-old woman in her apartment near Nicholson and West Lee drives on July 5 was arrested in Alabama on Monday night.
U.S. Marshals and the Alabama Highway Patrol apprehended James Harold Crockett Jr., 37, at about 8:40 p.m. on Interstate 65 near Huntsville after he crashed during a police chase, said Baton Rouge Police Department Spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely.
Crockett will face prosecution in Louisiana and Mississippi for rapes.
On July 5, Crockett allegedly used a stun-gun and handcuffs to subdue the woman, and raped her.The victim was not a University student, BRPD Spokesman Sgt. Don Kelly said.—-Contact Kyle Bove at [email protected]
