Game Day Activities: Most Mississippi State University students tailgate in an area called the Junction located directly outside Davis Wade Stadium. Students take tailgating very seriously and set up their tents and music for tailgates 24 hours in advance, Lindsey Trussell, MSU business sophomore said. While tailgating this weekend, Tiger fans shouldn’t worry about harassment from bulldog fans, Trussell said. But the shrill sound of cowbells will be heard.”Honestly, there’s no heckling,” Trussell said. “We’re not very mean, but we will ring our cow bells as wildly as possible.” Because this Saturday is MSU’s white-out game, all of the Bulldog fans will be adorning white. Dining: Starkville visitors can easily hit up their favorite chain restaurants, but some MSU hot spots are exclusive to this college town. ”Mugshots really has the best burgers anywhere,” said Ross Hubbard, business sophomore. Mugshots Grill and Bar not only has amazing burgers but also a bar and live music.Bulldog Deli is another favorite for students craving sandwiches, and Little Dewey’s can help visitors craving barbeque, Hubbard said. Before the Sunday morning drive back to Baton Rouge, City Bagel Cafe on University Drive has a bagel to suit everyone’s taste buds and a large outdoor patio to enjoy the morning, said Jennifer Glaze, vice president for Tourism Development. Night Life: Friday Night:Friday in Starkville’s Cotton District on University Drive, MSU is holding the Bulldog Bash, which is equivalent to LSU’s Groovin’ on the Grounds. Starkville Layout: Starkville has two main roads where students can find eateries and shopping: Highway 12, referred to as the strip, and Main Street.Students wear “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” shirts to represent Highway 12. ”We like to refer to Starkville as ‘Starkvegas,'” Trussell said. “Just mainly because the lights from the strip look like the strip in Vegas.”
