MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Nora is strengthening in the open Pacific far off Mexico’s coast, but the system is not expected to threaten land.
The storm has maximum sustained winds near 45 mph (75 kph).
The storm was centered Wednesday about 665 miles (1,065 kilometers) southwest of the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula. It’s moving west-northwest near 9 mph (15 kph).
