The cold and flu season is here, and it’s important to know your options to stay safe.
The LSU Student Insurance Health Plan is relatively inexpensive and covers everything from check-ups to ER visits.
There is a difference between LSU Health Center Services and LSU Insurance Coverage.
Access to the Student Health Center is included in student fees.
LSU Insurance Covers services typically paid out-of-pocket, such as x-rays and lab work.
Insurance coordinator Celeste Carney says the University doesn’t require that students have insurance but recommends it.
“Off campus care can be so expensive, we don’t want to see students having to drop out of school to pay medical bills,” said Carney.
LSU Insurance Plans range from $400 to $600 per semester.
Dental and vision insurance are not included but can be added.
