The LSU women’s soccer team jumped into the top 20 in the latest Soccer America Top 25 poll after sweeping the weekend against then No. 8 Georgia and Tennessee.
The Tigers (6-2-2, 2-0-0) are now No. 20 after beating Georgia, 6-0, and Tennessee, 5-1.
No. 7 South Carolina, No. 15 Florida and No. 21 Georgia Bulldogs complete the Southeastern Conference teams in the top 25.
Senior midfielder Malorie Rutledge and senior forward Rachel Yepez made the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s College Team of the Week.
Rutledge had three assists and a goal, and Yepez had three goals and two assists in the SEC opening weekend.
Yepez also was named the SEC Player of the Week and Tigers’ freshman Carlie Banks was named the SEC Freshman of the Week.
