The University’s Fall Break begins Wednesday night at 10 p.m.
While some students spend the extended weekend on mini-vacations, most students are either staying in Baton Rouge or going home.
“I’m going to the Varsity for a show then home to Alexandria, [La.],” said Kayleigh Anniballi, political science freshman.
Karsten Davis, a mass communications sophomore, also said he was going home for Fall Break.
“I’ll probably go to a concert and party,” he said.
Other students, like Jamison Jones, are staying in Baton Rouge.
“I’m staying here because [Fall Break] is too short time to fly home,” the international studies junior said. Jones is from Chicago, Ill.
While Jones said he’d be studying during fall break, concerts are also a popular option.
Anniballi plans on attending The Toadies concert in Baton Rouge, but other students are traveling to the popular three day music festival Austin City Limits located in Austin, Texas.
Austin City Limits will feature singers, songwriters and bands like John Legend, Dave Matthews Band and the Arctic Monkeys.
“I love music and I love Austin,” said mass communications senior Zack Landry. He said he won’t be visiting home during the Fall Break.
“Unlike people who are from out of state, I can go home anytime I want,” he said.
Jones said he wishes the break was longer, but Landry said the break is long enough.
“I don’t think it’s too short,” he said. “I can’t expect it to be the same length as Spring Break. I guess that’s asking a lot.”
