The LSU women’s and men’s cross country teams placed eighth and 10th, respectively, Friday at the Crimson Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
A total of 16 teams completed the field in the men’s race, while 15 teams competed in the women’s race.
Alabama won both races in their season opener. The No. 10 Crimson Tide dominated the men’s side with a score of 34 as their top four runners were the first competitors to cross the finish line. The Alabama women posted a score of 43.
The Tigers had a score of 284, and the Lady Tigers finished with 167.
Top finishers individually for LSU were sophomore Cullen Doody, who finished in 43rd place with an 8K time of 26:52.30 and sophomore Katie Hamel who was 19th place with a 5K time of 18:43.50.
