A new study by the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government shows gambling revenue is down nationwide, but Louisiana has endured one of the smallest decreases in the country.Louisiana’s overall gambling revenue, including casinos, the lottery and racinos, decreased from $668 million to $659 million. The 1.3 percent decrease in Louisiana’s overall gambling revenue is less than the nation’s average, 2.8 percent.Louisiana also fared better than most states in casino-only revenue for the year, facing a 3.5 percent decrease, much less than the 8.5 percent decrease nationally.
