St. Michael point guard Jeanne Kenney committed to the LSU women’s basketball team Tuesday night, according to The Advocate.
The 5-foot-9-inch recruit led the Lady Warriors to the past two Class 4A girls state basketball championships. Kenney was a member of the All-State Team and Co-MVP of District 7-4A in 2009.
The point guard averaged 14.8 points, six assists and five rebounds her junior season. Kenney shot 47 percent from the three-point line.
The Baton Rouge native also considered Florida State, Oklahoma, Georgia, Stanford and DePaul.
Kenney and AAU teammate center Theresa Plaisance from Vandebilt Catholic are the first two member’s of the Lady Tigers’ 2010 recruiting class.
