Thanks to everyone for participating! We have a winner! We will have a pictur
Somewhere on the LSU campus, KLSU has hidden a “Treasure Chest” consisting of a grand and glorious prize! You could become the only student on campus to have inner-campus parking privileges through the fall semester OR, you could choose to infuse your Tiger Card with $300 in Tiger Cash OR, KLSU will buy you a new X-Box 360 or iPod Touch from Best Buy. It’s your choice – if you are the first person to locate the treasure.*
The “map” to this treasure is a series of 10 clues provided by KLSU, the student-run radio station at LSU located at 91.1 FM, on a one-a-weekday basis starting Wednesday, Sept. 9. The clues are inner-related and critical to locating the treasure. Some early clues won’t make sense until combined with later clues so make sure you listen everyday.
A single clue will be announced each day, Monday through Friday. You can hear the daily clue once during Boomer and Cheetos’ morning drive shows(6 a.m. to 9 a.m.), once at noon with DJ Plum or DJ Icarus, and a third time with either the S.S. Awesome Crew or Gracie Lou during the afternoon drive shifts (3 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Clues, along with contest information, will be posted on this page below, but beware! The clues posted here will only be previous day’s clues, therefore you need to be listening everyday so you don’t fall behind everyone else!
Get moving, Mateys!

CLUE ONE
Here are helpful tips for your hunt: You don’t need any digging tools. Forget about private or restricted access areas; this year’s treasure is hidden in a public place. Starting today, as part of the daily hints, you will receive a letter of the alphabet. They will be critical at the end. The first letter to remember is “S.”
CLUE TWO
More helpful hints: Many clues can be cryptic, as you might expect, so don’t always take them literally. You must discover the key before you can unlock the treasurer box. The key is not in plain sight, but can be seen from a low angle. Today’s letter to remember is “E.”
CLUE THREE
You will visit a clue site twice, but for different reasons. This hunt involves many boxes, but only three will count. One is small enough to fit in your hand. The second is so large nothing could carry it, yet it is not permanent. The most important one, however, is small and also can’t be moved. Given ‘em an “O.”
CLUE FOUR
Proceed to the highest ground on campus. Scan to the east until you spot a landmark rising above the trees. If you can’t see it, just move to your left. If you still are in the dark, listen for it. Head for the street front of that structure. And take a second “O” for your collection.
CLUE FIVE
At this point, treasure hunters must head out over open ground. Angle away from legal issues. Go just beyond where the faculty gathers. The place contains many letters, but the only one you need is the letter du jour – a “C.”
CLUE SIX
If you are P.O.’d by now, you are in the right place. Besides mail, this complex contains rows upon rows of something. Now strike out to the second-largest thing with the same name on the LSU campus. Today’s alphabetical contribution is “I.”
CLUE SEVEN
Now that you have arrived, go to the main entrance. The gate is locked, but to the right is a schedule of past events. Add the hours of all the events that were scheduled to start prior to 2 pm. Remember the sum. Today’s letter is “T” as in touch.
CLUE EIGHT
Head for the deadliest spot on campus. Then take a little hike around either side of the second deadliest place on campus and you will end up at the safest place on campus. Take a seat on the bench out front. Ponder the scene, then begin walking in the direction of 263. How far? Stay tuned. Today’s letter is “F.” It’s bonus time again: Take a second “F.” Two F’s today.
CLUES NINE and TEN
The number of strides from the bench is the number derived from clue 7. If you are getting frustrated, press the Button to Cancel. Relax and take a knee to spot the black magnetic box holding the key. Today’s final letter is a “P.”
Arrange the 10-letter anagram correctly to know where to take the key. Place the first two digits of the year you were born in front of the three numbers near and dear to the sponsor of this treasure hunt to determine which box holds the treasure. Alas, you won’t find the exact number, but you can figure it out. Insert key , turn left and yank (it sticks). Follow the directions to claim your treasure.
