The Manship School of Mass Communication recently received the Diversity and Equity Award from the Association of Education in Journalism.
The award recognizes the Manship School’s work to address the challenges the media face as the news front is focusing more on digital and online media, according to a University news release.
Manship School Dean John Hamiton received the award at the annual AEJMC convention Aug. 5, the release said.
“We believe we exist to serve the total community – that’s why this school has worked to diversify its curriculum and its faculty and staff to share these efforts nationally,” Hamilton said in the release.
