LOS ANGELES (CNN) – The sci-fi thriller “District 9” landed at number one at the box office over the weekend.
It took in an estimated 37-million dollars. Last week’s number one, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra,” slipped to second place.
It made about 22-and-a-half-million. Coming in third, was “The Time Traveler’s Wife.”
It opened, taking in more than 19-million dollars.
