The awards ceremony for the New Orleans stop of the 48 Hour Film Project will be held today at Bacchanal Fine Wine and Spirits in New Orleans, concluding the area’s participation in the international festival.
The 48 Hour Film Project — the world’s largest timed filmmaking competition — involves nearly 80 cities and more than 35,000 people internationally, including filmmaking teams from across Louisiana.
Over a designated weekend, teams are given 48 hours to write, direct and edit a four to seven minute short film, which screens shortly thereafter at a local theater.
The winner of the local competition will then go on to compete for top honors at Filmapalooza, an awards event honoring the 2009 tour’s top film submissions.
