(CNN)—Another U.S. service member has died in Afghanistan.
August is now the deadliest month for U.S. troops there in the nearly eight year war.
The service member died when a roadside bomb exploded in eastern Afghanistan today.
The death brings the number of U.S. troops killed this month to 46, surpassing the previous record of 45 in July.
