The Baton Rouge Epicurean Society will hold the three-day event “A Celebration of Food and Wine” at the Sheraton Atrium beginning today through Saturday, Aug. 29.
Today, the most elite chefs of the greater Baton Rouge area will prepare a six course wine dinner in honor of the Lifetime Achievement Award winner Frank Bologna at 7 p.m.
From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, an assortment of activities will take place, including entertainment by the Troy Davis Trio, a Louisiana chef competition, a silent auction, a local artist showcase and a media wine judging.
Saturday will be filled with live zydeco music, the continuation of the chef competition and the silent auction. Chef John Folse will make a special appearance.
The awards dinner today costs $200 per person. The food and wine tasting Friday and Saturday cost $75 in advanced and $85 at the door. The package deal for all three events cost $295.
The Baton Rouge Epicurean Society bases its name and style on the Greek philosopher Epicurus. Epicurus saw philosophy as way to make life blissful by seeking tranquility and freedom through knowledge.
