Saints coach Sean Payton told the New Orleans Times-Picayune on Monday that he expects the team’s two primary running backs, Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas to be ready for the team’s season opener in two weeks against the Detroit Lions.
Thomas suffered a sprained MCL earlier in the preseason that has kept him out of action. 
Bush is still recovering from an offseason knee surgery that kept him out at the end of last season.
