Hurricane Bill — currently a Category 2 hurricane with winds of about 105 mph — is expected to become a major hurricane that stays over the water, said National Weather Service Meteorologist Ashley Hayes.
The only land mass threatened by Bill is Bermuda.
Massachusetts, Rhode Island or Connecticut will be the only portions of the continental United States to see any inclement weather associated with Bill, and it is likely to be minor thunderstorms, Hayes said.
