Former LSU forward Stromile Swift’s mother died, LSU men’s basketball coach Trent Johnson said Thursday.
The New Jersey Nets’ reserve returned to practice on Tuesday after missing significant time and not playing since Dec. 10, 2008, citing personal matters, CBSsports.com reported Thursday.
“Our condolences go out to him,” Johnson said.
Swift was a member of LSU’s Sweet 16 team in 2000 and was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft.
Johnson said he was informed late last night by LSU associate athletic director Eddie Nunez.
