Several on-campus professors have made special plans for today’s inauguration of President Barack Obama. From ending classes early to holding classes viewing the inauguration to canceling classes to allow students to view the ceremony on their own, many professors throughout the University are requiring students to watch the event.Laura Jones, a graduate teaching assistant in English, said she ended her English 2000 class early, and she encouraged her students to trek to the Union to view the historical inauguration.”Our whole focus is social justice and this is probably the most important example of that we’ll see in our lifetime,” Jones said.
