BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana’s education board is considering whether the state should take control of 10 troubled public schools, eight in Baton Rouge and two in Caddo Parish.
State Superintendent of Education Paul Pastorek is recommending the takeover.
A panel of the state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education is planning to discuss the proposal Wednesday.
Local Baton Rouge school leaders oppose the move, saying they have a plan to improve the schools themselves.
