Residential Life and Information Technology Services are teaming up to bring wireless access to all students living in residence halls.ResLife Director Steve Waller said all 17 residence halls should be complete by fall 2009.”That was our commitment to the students,” he said. “As we complete them, we will turn them on and let students take advantage of the technology.”Wireless access was installed in three residence halls before winter break, and officials are in the process of designing the wireless maps for the remaining buildings, Waller said.Installation could cost up to $700,000, Waller said, plus the operational costs.”We have to pay for upgrading the equipment,” he said. “Every so many years, we will be upgrading as technology moves forward.——Contact The Daily Reveille news staff at [email protected]
