(AP) — A leader of an organization set up to encourage a presidential run by Gov. Bobby Jindal has stepped down and asked the group to discontinue its activities.
Dan Kyle was listed as treasurer of the Jindal for President Draft Council. But a Jindal spokeswoman and a leader of his re-election campaign said Tuesday that the draft effort would distract from Jindal’s work as governor.
Kyle said in a letter released late Tuesday he is stepping down as an officer in the group and urging that it discontinue activities until after the 2011 governor’s race. Meanwhile, when asked about Jindal’s presidential plans, his spokeswoman responded with the usual answer: He has the job he wants.—-Contact The Daily Reveille’s news staff at [email protected]
