WOMAN WHO STABBED SELF ARRESTED NOV. 25A 47-year-old woman who claimed she was stabbed by a man on campus Nov. 14 and later confessed to fabricating the story about the incident was arrested Nov. 25 for terrorizing and criminal mischief, said LSUPD Spokesman Sgt. Blake Tabor. Dale Noel, of 2912 Caroljack Dr., Baton Rouge, was taken to the hospital Saturday after she claimed she was stabbed by a Middle Eastern man following an argument when she denied him entry into the Paul M. Hebert Law Center. where Noel works as a security guard. After additional interviews, Noel revealed the wounds were self-inflicted. LSUPD officers arrested her at her house Nov. 25, Tabor said. Noel was later booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. UNIVERSITY EMPLOYEE ARRESTED FOR THEFT A 19-year-old Facilities Services employee was arrested Nov. 24 at about 4:30 p.m. for stealing about $200 from a University student’s purse. The victim told officers she left a room in the band hall for about 10 minutes on Nov. 17, and when she returned the money was gone, Tabor said. LSUPD’s investigation led officers to question Facility Services workers who were working in the Band Hall that night, Tabor said.When officers questioned Tevin Mays, of 6421 Osborne Ave., Baton Rouge, he admitted to stealing the money. Mays was issued a misdemeanor summons and released. Tabor said Mays will most likely have to pay back the student through restitution. MAN ARRESTED AFTER BEING THROWN OUT OF TIGER STADIUM TWICE A 26-year-old man unaffiliated with the University was arrested during the Arkansas football game Nov. 28 at about 9 p.m. after he was kicked out of Tiger Stadium. LSUPD officers were notified after Baton Rouge Police Department officers and LSU game marshals escorted Robert Roy II, of 104 Turtle Creek Dr., out of Tiger Stadium. Tabor said Roy appeared to have bulges in his clothes. When officers asked Roy to empty his pockets and clothes, they found a cellphone, wallet and general athletic items like eye patches, elbow sleeves and a roll of gauze, Tabor said. The items belonged to the LSU football coaching staff. It appeared Roy had sneaked into one of the locker rooms and stolen the items, Tabor said. During their investigation, officers found several locker doors to have been forced open. The items were returned to the coaches and Roy was arrested for simple burglary. He was booked into Parish Prison. TWO STUDENTS ARRESTED FOR STEALING CHIPS, COOKIES Two 20-year-old University students were arrested at about 2:43 a.m. on Nov. 24 after they allegedly stole chips and cookies from the 459 Commons dining hall.Officers responded to a complaint from a 459 cashier about several people trying to steal food, but they left 459 after the cashier confronted them about it, Tabor said. The cashier said one of the students involved is Bennie Davis, of 4766 Wyandotte St., Baton Rouge. Davis returned to the 459 during the cashier’s conversation with the officers. During their investigation, officers found Davis had taken a cookie, a Rice Krispies treat and a bag of chips, Tabor said. Davis gave the name of another person involved in the theft as well — Ervin T. Smith, 4445 Alvin Dark Dr., Baton Rouge. Smith was contacted the next day about the theft, and he turned himself into LSUPD, Tabor said. Both Davis and Smith were issued a misdemeanor summons for theft and released. MAN ARRESTED FOR ENTERING OR REMAINING AFTER BEING FORBIDDEN A 32-year-old man unaffiliated with the University was arrested near Lockett Hall on charges of remaining after being forbidden Nov. 23 at about 7:20 p.m. LSU Police Department officers responded to a complaint about a man and his two children begging for money near the building, Tabor said. The man — Jarad Cola, of 528 East State St., Apt. 1, Baton Rouge — had been banned from campus because of a similar situation, Tabor said. Cola’s children were released to their mother. He was issued a misdemeanor summons and released. STUDENT ARRESTED AFTER HIT AND RUN An 18-year-old University student was arrested Nov. 24 at about 3:15 a.m. after witnesses saw him hit two cars in a parking lot and leave near McVoy Hall. The witnesses told LSUPD officers they saw a car hit two other cars while backing out of a parking spot, Tabor said. The officers found the car by using the vehicle description the witnesses gave them.After running the car’s license plate, officers determined the car belonged to John Wegmann, of 114 West William David Parkway, Metairie. Officers questioned Wegmann, but he declined to give a statement about the hit and run. Wegmann was issued a misdemeanor summons for two counts of hit and run driving, reckless operation of a vehicle and unlawful use of a license. Tabor said Wegmann was using a Florida driver’s license that wasn’t his. WOMAN ARRESTED FOR DWI A 21-year-old woman unaffiliated with the University was arrested Nov. 26 at about 2:30 a.m. after driving the wrong way down a one way street. An officer patrolling near Dalrymple Drive saw a car drive the wrong way down Infirmary Road, Tabor said. When the officer stopped the car and talked to the driver — Laura Pickett, of 16352 Old Hammond Hwy, Baton Rouge — she appeared intoxicated, according to Tabor. After the officer asked Pickett to step out of the car, she failed a field sobriety test. The officer took Pickett to LSUPD, where she registered .185 on a breath-alcohol test, according to Tabor. Pickett was booked into Parish Prison for driving the wrong way down a one way and driving while intoxicated. MAN ARRESTED FOR DISTURBING THE PEACE, DRUGS A 26-year-old man unaffiliated with the University was arrested Nov. 29 at about 2:15 a.m. for disturbing the peace by public intoxication. An officer patrolling Highland Road saw a yellow taxi cab had stopped in the southbound lane of traffic near Raphael Semmes Road. The driver of the taxi was out of the car, arguing with a customer in his back seat, Tabor said. The cab driver told the officer he wanted the customer out of his cab. The customer — John Kramer, of 1704 South Brightside View — appeared intoxicated, Tabor said. The officer told Kramer to get out of the car and leave campus, but soon after Kramer started trying to get a ride from other cars on Highland Road, according to Tabor.The officer told Kramer to stop, but he didn’t, Tabor said. Kramer was then arrested for disturbing the peace by public intoxication. But during the arrest, the officer found Kramer had four tablets of a suspected amphetamine and six tablets of Clonazepam on him.
