The LSU Women’s Basketball team waited patiently for their name to be called for an invitation to the NCAA Tournament to compete for a national title.
The room became swelled with excitement and happiness as the Tigers’ name was displayed on the screen ranking the team at No. 8 facing off against the No. 9 Cal Berkeley Bears. 
“If we can play for 40 minutes, we can play with anyone in the country,” said LSU Women’s Basketball Head Coach Nikki Fargas.
Coach Fargas seemed very confident in her team’s ability to win and take it all the way the championship. 
The first game of the tournament will be March 18, 2017, 8:00 PM CT, in Waco, Texas.
