The LSU Tigers devastated the University of Georgia last weekend in their three-game series sweep, however LSU is facing more competition this weekend as they head to Gainesville to take on the No. 11 Gators.
“Going to Gainesville is a tough task,” said head baseball coach Paul Mainieri.
Mainieri said that LSU and Florida have fairly equal talent on the mound and in the outfield, so he believes the games will come down to a few at bats.
LSU has an impressive record when away from Alex Box.
“Somehow our team pulls together, plays well, and steps up to the challenge,” Mainieri said.
The first pitch against Florida will be thrown at 6 p.m. on Friday evening at Alfred A. McKethan Stadium.
