The Tiger women’s tennis squad fell 7-0 to a stacked No. 1 Florida team March 3rd at the W. T. “Dub” Robinson Tennis Complex. All of the Gators’ singles are ranked in the top 100, with their three doubles teams in the top 20.
Sophomore Jess Golovin was the lone tiger whom extended her singles match to a third set.
Freshman Jade Lewis competed in doubles with fellow freshman, Becca Weissmann, but sat out of singles due to a recovering ankle injury.
Head coach, Julia Sell, called the loss “encouraging,” saying “this is as good as it gets…it only gets easier from here.”
LSU’s next match is March 5th at 11 am, hosting the No. 19 South Carolina Gamecocks.
