Tuesday Head Baseball Coach Paul Manieri spoke on his reasoning for recruiting former football players, especially quarterbacks.
“I’ve never been secretive about how enamored I am with multi-sport athletes,” Manieri said.
Manieri feels that a quarterback’s poise and ability to handle pressure can benefit a pitcher immensely. 
“We have thrown Matthew Beck in to some difficult situations, and he has handled them with remarkable poise,” Manieri said.
The young pitchers have performed well recently, and with a the team hitting its stride, Coach Manieri will look to make no changes in the roster.
