The No. 2 LSU gymnastics team is going to nationals.
The Tigers finished first in their regional matchup against No. 11 Boise State, No.14 Nebraska, No. 25 Arizona, Iowa State and Minnesota.
LSU finished with a score of 197.45 and swept all individual event titles and the all-around.
A change from the typical home meet rotation, the Tigers started on bars and continued through beam, floor and then vault.
They did not score lower than a 9.85 on bars, finishing with a score of 49.400. Sophomore all-arounder Sarah Finnegan captured the bars title with a 9.925.
Even with two falls on beam, LSU finished with a 49.175. Senior all-arounder Ashleigh Gnat’s 9.925 clinched the event title.
The Tigers’ highest total score of the night was a 49.500 on the floor, where again Gnat received that title with a 9.95.
LSU rounded out the regional meet with a 49.375 on vault. Freshman all-arounder Kennedi Edney stuck the vault to score a 9.925 and capture the individual event title.
Finnegan and junior all-arounder Myia Hambrick competed in the all-around with scores of 39.475 and 39.45 respectively. Finnegan won the all-arounder.
