Bryan Benchoff was named the new president and CEO of the LSU Foundation and the vice president of institutional advancement, according to a news release.
Benchoff will start July 17. He comes to the University after six years as the former president and CEO of the Ohio University Foundation and vice president of university advancement.
Benchoff will replace Stephen Moret, who left the position after 18 months to become president and CEO of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership.
“Bryan has a proven record in a role that we will replicate at LSU with great success,” LSU President F. King Alexander said in a news release. “We are eyeing a $1.2 billion-plus capital campaign, and Bryan’s leadership will serve to link philanthropy with research, education and outreach at every level.”
In addition to his position at Ohio University, Benchoff was president and CEO of the University of South Dakota Foundation and associate vice president for development of the West Virginia University Foundation Inc. He has also worked in fundraising positions for the American Red Cross and the Arthritis Foundation.
“It will be my honor and privilege to serve LSU in this capacity,” Benchoff said in a news release. “My wife, Karen, and I are grateful for this wonderful opportunity and are excited to join the LSU and Baton Rouge communities.”
