Posting a 197 or better score has become second nature for the No. 2 LSU gymnastics team.
The Tigers routed No. 23 Arkansas 197.7-196.325 on the road in Barnhill Arena. It’s the 14th straight meet the Tigers posted a 197 or better, which ties a school record.
Although LSU struggled on vault with landing errors, it managed to win the vault title with a total score of 49.225. Freshman all-arounder Kennedi Edney and senior all-arounder Ashleigh Gnat both scored a 9.90, respectively.
Freshman all-arounder and former 2016 Olympian Ruby Harrold scored a 9.80 on her debut vault.
Sophomore all-arounder Lexie Priessman captured the bars title with a 9.90. Harrold delivered a 9.875, respectively.
A pair of all-arounders posted season highs for LSU on beam.
Junior all-arounder Myia Hambrick notched a season-high on beam with a 9.95 score and junior all-arounder Erin Macadaeg also scored a season high on beam with a 9.90, respectively.
The lowest beam score for LSU on Friday was a 9.875.
On floor, the Tigers posted a 49.550, good enough to capture the event and is the highest floor score on the road against a Southeastern Conference opponent. Gnat won the floor title with a score of 9.950.
Competing in all four events for the third straight meet, Edney won her third all-around title, scoring a 39.500. Hambrick placed second scoring a 39.250.
Next up for LSU, a quad meet against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 9 Georgia and No. 13 Mizzou at the GYMQuarters Mardi Gras Invitational next Friday.
