The 89th Annual Academy Awards ceremony was held this Sunday and the red carpet was scattered with many beautiful gowns and interesting looks.
The gorgeous Emma Stone, who won an Oscar for her leading role in “La La Land,” stole the show with her old Hollywood look, which was very fitting considering the film is about old Hollywood.
She wore her hair pinned to one side and her floor length golden dress looked stunning with her tiny figure. She was truly captivating in her shimmery dress.
She subtly wore a Planned Parenthood pin by the sleeve of her dress, as a small political reference.
On the other hand, Scarlett Johansson, the presenter for original song, went in the complete opposite direction from Stone, with her bright pink gown embellished with small green accents.
She wore it with a simple black belt, and her hair, which is shaved other than the top, was similar to rock singer P!nk. This look wasn’t the best for a classy event like the Oscars.
Viola Davis, who won best supporting actress for her role in “Fences,” looked absolutely breathtaking in her vibrant red dress. It showed off her toned arms and shoulders.
The red dress was draped behind her with a decent length train that only added more elegance to her look.
Janelle Monáe, nominated for both “Hidden Figures” and best movie winner “Moonlight,” was wore a very unique gown. It looked like she was sponsoring the New Orleans Saints team with her black and gold ensemble.
The top of the gown was see-through with golden birds and flowers covering the essential parts. The bottom of the dress puffed out into a Cinderella style ball gown. The look was definitely unique.
She also wore a gold headband with it, which almost resembled a crown. The look was not traditional, but she managed to pull it off with a big smile on her face for a majority of the night.
The Oscars red carpet was not a disappointment this year, with many breathtaking looks that grabbed the attention of all viewers and of course, the stars who were there.
