LSU’s quarterback depth chart is now thinner.
Junior quarterback Brandon Harris announced he will transfer via a tweet.
Harris has been granted his full release and plans to graduate this semester, according to his statement.
Harris began the 2016 season as LSU’s starter, but was replaced in LSU’s second game of the season against Jacksonville State for junior quarterback Danny Etling.
The Bossier City native started two games for LSU last season and threw for 139 yards and one touchdown and two interceptions.
The 6-foot-3, 218-pound signal caller started all 12 games for LSU in 2015, throwing for 2,165 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Harris’ departure leaves LSU with four scholarship quarterbacks on its roster going into spring practice.
