The LSU Women’s Beach Volleyball split the team to play a Purple vs. Gold scrimmage at Mango’s Beach on Saturday.
Although the score wasn’t being kept, fourth year head coach Russell Brock was pleased with their performance.
“Today was a great step in our preparation for competition,” Brock said.
From the scrimmage Brock learned that his player’s perform well with different combinations of teammates.
“That’s what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to create players who can, evaluate what needs to be done and how it needs to be done on their own because that’s the way our sport is,” Brock said.
First year player Claire Coppola was nervous, but the veterans and coaches helped calm her and her teammates down.
Fifth year senior Katie Lindelow is looking forward to the talent on this year’s team.
“I’m really excited to see all that we can accomplish. The young girls that come in, have really made big impact and I’m excited,” Lindelow said.
The Lady’s Tigers next match at Mango’s Beach is March 18-19 for the Tiger Beach Challenge Tournament.
