After the first day of the Purple and Gold Challenge was canceled due to rain, No.7 LSU swept both of its opponents on Saturday.
The Tigers (7-1) had a 10-1 run-rule win against against Georgia Southern and a 9-2 win against Central Arkansas.
“I liked how we finished here tonight,” LSU coach Beth Torina said. “I thought we did a good job of fighting back, they never panicked. I liked that they got on the board by finally being productive with their at bats.”
LSU wasted no time, jumping to a 2-0 lead over Georgia Southern in the first inning.
Junior center fielder Emily Griggs lead off the inning with a single up the middle and senior right fielder Bailey Landry followed with a double to put runners in scoring position.

Felt promptly walked another two batters, giving the Tigers a 7-0 lead.
