Our most beloved singers and songwriters walked the red carpet at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 12 at the Staples Center in L.A., giving the audience a combination of stunning dresses and strange get-ups.
Though there were plenty of gorgeous dresses to admire, unique outfits took the prize for this year’s show. The most noticeable outfit of the night was singer CeeLo Green’s head-to-toe gold costume. Twitter users were calling him “an angry Ferrero Rocher.”
Singer Lady Gaga also received attention for her tiny black outfit, which showed off a majority of her midriff and chest. Her fans weren’t surprised, as Gaga is known for confidence in her risqué looks.
Another intriguing look came from pop singer Katy Perry. Like Gaga, she is known for dressing in unique outfits. Perry’s feathered skirt and tight leather jacket were definitely unique, but not the look people were expecting from her. Perry later changed into a chic white pantsuit when she performed her new song “Chained to the Rhythm.”
Twitter users joked that Chance the Rapper, “always dresses like a mailman.” Chance’s fans quoted the tweet saying, “Because he always delivers,” meaning he always gives his fans what they want.
He dressed for the part in his gray-blue suit and baseball cap. He won several awards, including Best New Artist, making him the first black hip-hop artist to win in this category since 1999.
Country singer Carrie Underwood looked absolutely stunning in her open-cut, dark red dress. Underwood was styled very similarly to country counterpart Faith Hill, wearing a red dress with the same cut. Underwood teamed up with Keith Urban to perform “The Fighter,” and changed into a short, stylish dress.
Singer Adele took home the Album of the Year award for “25,” along with four other high-end awards. She was wearing a simple and classy green dress with patterns across the front, showing off her curves.
And of course, iconic singer Beyoncé showed up in a low cut, tight dress, showing off her adorable baby bump. She performed a medley of songs from her album, wearing an outfit themed around motherhood, family and feminism.
