The Lady Tigers faced off against the Penn State Nittany Lions to close out their double-header on Saturday.
In their first game, the Lady Tigers barely escaped another loss, winning against McNeese State on walk-off single.
But it was a completely different story in their second game. They defeated Penn State 14-1. The game ended after five innings. The win comes just a day after the Tigers lost to the Nittany Lions 7-3.
“Hopefully that was a good answer back for what happened yesterday,” Head Coach Beth Torina said. “I think our team wanted to send a message about yesterday.”
Senior Bailey Landry had an impressive performance, going 3-4 with 1 RBI.
“We wanted to come back and put on a good performance,” Landry said. “We knew we had a lot more to get out of us this game, and we definitely showed it this game.”
The Lady Tigers now sit at 3-1 on the season. They play again Sunday against Oklahoma State.
